A woman with long blonde hair wearing sunglasses, a black top, and blue jeans sits on a stone ledge by a canal, with historic European-style buildings, a church steeple, and a tree reflecting in the water in the background on a bright, sunny day.

A bit about me.

Hi, I’m Eimear, and I run Emore Edits.

I’ve been immersed in storytelling, writing, and books for as long as I can remember. Over time, I’ve turned my love of detail, narrative, and language into a career as a freelance book editor — the perfect blend of Type A structure with Type B creativity.

With a background in journalism, communications, and content strategy, I help authors refine their manuscripts through beta reading, line editing, copy editing, and proofreading.

I support both emerging and established writers across all genres, with a particular focus on historical fiction, memoir, and narrative nonfiction. My editing style is warm, collaborative, and adaptable — tailored to each writer’s unique voice and goals.

Based in Toronto, I’m familiar with Canadian, US, Irish, and UK writing conventions, ensuring your manuscript aligns with the expectations of your target market.

I’m a curious reader, a proud perfectionist, and I aim to provide more than expected (hence Emore Edits). If you’re searching for a freelance editor who prioritizes clear communication, detailed feedback, and supportive guidance, I’d love to hear from you.
